SUMMARY:EPIF Roundtable on the SPAA Scheme
DESCRIPTION:The European Payment Institutions Federation (EPIF) is hosting a virtual Roundtable discussion on the new SEPA Payment Account Access (SPAA) Scheme on Friday\, 16 December from 10.00 to 12.30 CET. \nThe SPAA Scheme builds on the legal and regulatory requirements of the PSD2 to move towards an “open data society” whilst also encompassing value-added services. The scheme aims to deliver premium payment services with a fair distribution of value and risk amongst participants. \nAs with our previous workshops\, the purpose of this roundtable is to bring together EPIF members and other representatives of PSPs and card schemes on the one hand\, with representatives of the merchant community on the other. \nThe overall objective of the Roundtable is to facilitate an exchange of views with regards to the current status of the SPAA work\, the practical implications of the Scheme for merchants and customers\, possible business case applications and how the Scheme will interact with the wider EU policy agenda\, notably on Instant Payments and Open Finance. \nTo register for this event and for further information\, please contact the EPIF Secretariat at info@paymentinstitutions.eu. \nPlease note that the calendar invite with the dial in details will only be shared with registered participants.

SUMMARY:EPIF Roundtable on the implications of Brexit for the payments sector
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, \nSix weeks into the ending of the transition period between the EU and UK\, EPIF would like to organise a virtual roundtable to discuss the possible immediate and medium term implications of Brexit for the payments sector. This session will take place on 25th February at 15.00 CET. \nLooking forward to the upcoming negotiations between both sides on an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which governance the future regulatory and supervisory cooperation\, our workshop wants to highlight the need for payments to be included in such discussions. We would also like to already explore which role the MoU and regulatory and supervisory cooperation could play with regard to the payments sector. \nFinally\, we would like to take stock of current market trends related to cross border payments between the EU and the UK. \nWe plan to structure the discussion in two sections one looking at standard setting process and the application of the SEPA regulation and the other one looks at areas of possible future regulatory and supervisory convergence and divergence impacting the payments sector.  Please find attached the draft agenda. \nTo register for this important event and for further information\, please contact the EPIF Secretariat at info@paymentinstitutions.eu. \nShould you wish to participate\, please let us know by Friday 19th February 2021 COB. Please note that the calendar invite with the dial in details will only be shared with registered participants. \nIt would be a pleasure if you were able to join us on this occasion.
