EPIF Roundtable on the implications of Brexit for the payments sector
25 February, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Dear colleagues,
Six weeks into the ending of the transition period between the EU and UK, EPIF would like to organise a virtual roundtable to discuss the possible immediate and medium term implications of Brexit for the payments sector. This session will take place on 25th February at 15.00 CET.
Looking forward to the upcoming negotiations between both sides on an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which governance the future regulatory and supervisory cooperation, our workshop wants to highlight the need for payments to be included in such discussions. We would also like to already explore which role the MoU and regulatory and supervisory cooperation could play with regard to the payments sector.
Finally, we would like to take stock of current market trends related to cross border payments between the EU and the UK.
We plan to structure the discussion in two sections one looking at standard setting process and the application of the SEPA regulation and the other one looks at areas of possible future regulatory and supervisory convergence and divergence impacting the payments sector. Please find attached the draft agenda.
To register for this important event and for further information, please contact the EPIF Secretariat at info@paymentinstitutions.eu.
Should you wish to participate, please let us know by Friday 19th February 2021 COB. Please note that the calendar invite with the dial in details will only be shared with registered participants.
It would be a pleasure if you were able to join us on this occasion.
